Getting Closer

Hey guys!  It has been a really long time since I have sat down and written a blog post, so here goes.  My Uganda trip is coming up really quickly – it’s less than 7 weeks away.   We raised $7000 in 7 weeks and I have my passport and ALL of my shots done!  We’re so excited to see this become a reality!

Recently, we have been able to see some awesome pictures and videos of the children I am going to meet.  One of the coolest was to see all of the kids in Kamonkoli running to go to AWANA.  They were so excited to learn about Jesus. When we are there, I’m the one who gets to teach them about Jesus!  Orphan’s Heart also gives us the opportunity to sponsor one of the kids from the village.   We are hoping to meet a child in Uganda that we will come home and sponsor and invest in for LIFE!  I can’t wait!!!!!!!

I wanted to express my gratitude for all who helped me.  If it was a financial donation, or taking a few minutes to pray for my upcoming trip- I am so grateful for each and every one of you.  You are all amazing and you are helping kids across the world.

Even though all of my fundraising is complete, there are still ways you could help.  My mom and I are planning to take 2 suitcases, one with our clothes and necessities for the week and the other, we are planning to fill with stuff for the kiddos there.  Want to help us do that?    The weight limit is 50 pounds, so we are trying to keep stuff as light as possible.

Here is a list of some of the stuff we are wanting to take:

  1. Pens and Pencils
  2. Notebooks
  3. Erasers
  4. Educational Flashcards
  5. Play Dough
  6. Expo Markers
  7. Sidewalk Chalk
  8. A full outfit for a child (shirt, pants-skirts or dresses for girls, a pair of shoes)
  9. Toothbrushes
  10. Travel sized toothpaste
  11. Soap
  12. Washcloths
  13. Neosporin
  14. Vaseline
  15. Sports Equipment (Frisbees, jump ropes, small balls)

Lots of this stuff can be found at the Dollar Store or Walmart, you can look for them on clearance.  Please don’t feel like you need to spend a lot of money on this, especially if you have already given financially.  If you are local, my mom and I can come and pick them up from you.  If you are not local- you can mail them to us:

12504 Rain Forest St.  Temple Terrace, FL  33617

Or if it’s easier, you can mail us a check and we will do the shopping for you.  We’re trying to get all of the items collected or purchased by March 1.

Again, I am grateful for all of you and the contributions and sacrifices you have made for me.

I love you all!
